Race Car
here's my first outing with the 3.8 on semis (a little old )
hopefully some pics later in the week as I spied a few foto hounds on the corners
Quite different from the Cup as you can imagine - gears completely so, and softness re brakes & suspension - but there an amazing similarity/unmistakably 911 and as much fun!
Sound was intoxicating - kept it above 4k most of the time - chowed a lot of petrol ie about 2x!
If it weren't for my overfill issues which translated into loose intake sleeves (please see my other thread and comment if you can!) I'd have done 4 or 5 sessions.
Thought it prudent to just do 3 nice easy sessions - this one with a young lass who wanted to go fast - screaming not audible from the front mounted GoPro
Interestingly I do a 1.19 in the cup with race fuel and sliicks, 1.29 with the 964. Will be nice when I have my SOLO DL back to get some comparative telemety/data.
64 cups do about a 1.24 at the track I think, with experienced drivers, big aero etc..
Also very interesting that I didn't have to change my brake markers much - cup is about 100kg lighter but 64 didn't feel bad on the brakes at all
and the alignment worked well I thought (see other post with specs ie 3dg camber etc..) if a bit swimmy before the tires heated up.
Brakes got soft quite quickly tho - lap 7-8 despite the SRF and the RS19s on the front - hope the brake ducts in the mail produce an improvement

It's the Karussell - car is set at RS ride height (Eibach springs/Bilstein shocks), it's so steeply banked that you can carry a hell of a lot of speed through it. Combination of speed and camber gives the effect!
