Default Looking for pics Cyl head temp sensor

I think mine has failed and as I am doing my new cam covers and spark plugs and oil seals on the timing chain covers

I thought while the exhaust will be off this would be a good time to change it before it goes in fo bi-annual service
so has anyone of a picture of where it lives or a picture of an engine out of the car with its location

Remove the left rear tire and you will see where the plastic wire goes in to cylinder 3 through the engine tin wear via a rubber gromet. Remove the rubber and you can replace it. Tou don't have to remove anything else.

Here's a picture (borrowed from Pelican's forum)

Note: To remove this sensor, you will need a deep 14mm socket, similar to this one.

Cause Difficult cold start since no fuel enrichment.

Runs fine all the time but cold start is a PITA over the last few weeks

Did you run Scantool? I think it queries the CHT sensor and can tell you if it is functional before you buy one and install it if it isn't needed. Saves money and time.

I will be getting my Scantool running soon and can check but I'm pretty sure that is one of the things it will do. Someone else can probably tell you right now if they already have it.

I ran my Scantool. It definitely queries the CHT sensor. Mine read 83 degrees, C or F?, about 30 min after driving. I don't know what it should read but it appears to be functional. I'll run my Scan next time I'm out to check normal driving values. Maybe someone knows the correct range for CHT temps.
