Default Classic Cars feature on 911s

This months has 9 of the "best 911s to buy now".
Unsurprisingly the C4 is featured. Do any of you know the owner? is he on Rennlist?

It's a fella by the name of Marcus. He's on the PCGB forum but I don't think he's on Rennlist. The mag contacted me a while back looking for a C4 coupe for the article. Marcus was the first to respond, so got the gig. Yet again the 964 got a very good review in the article.

Thanks Steve. Yup, it's my C4 and thanks Steve for the mention.

Top 911 enthusiastic journo who's done many articles for Total 911 and others wrote the article. My C4 was among esteemed and rare 911's and thought maybe it was the wrong place to be. Being asked to bring the car to Milbrook and run around their 'bowl' and Alpine circuit though was a no-brainer. The only thing I encouraged the journalist to do when he needed a few drives on his own with it was to 'rag it'!

Could hear the engine and gear changes in the distance... His smile when he got back was great to see so figured he liked it... Glad I spent the money in the right places on the car, and while not just sorted, I've never had so much pleasure and fun using it as 'Butzi' intended...

Good stuff Marcus, can you tell us a bit more about the car?
I have a C4 with custom RS spec geo as well and now the understeer is well and truly gone. Also have H&R reds and RS clutch.

No problem Jack...

- Recently rebuilt '92 engine by Autofarm (with the later plastic inlets and throttle linkage)
- RS clutch and flywheel
- Bilstein B6's with H&R Greens (wonder what the difference is to your reds)
- RS engine mounts (massive difference with slick gear changes)
- Remap
- Complete geo re-set by RPM Technik to a spec I used before from Chris at Centre Gravity (his 'Hockenheim' spec)
- De-cat
- Cup-pipe (but no G-pipe - needed to keep something there or get pulled over!)

My 2nd C4 after having written off the previous one on the way to Le Mans in June 3 days after a 9-month body resto (it had interesting provenance too)

She pulls like a train much more than the previous one too. Intend to track it more next year for a bit of fun - but manly to improve my technique and explore where the car limits are.

I'm not too far from you (Balham) - maybe a tyre kick one evening?

Absolutely, perhaps we can meet over the holidays? will pm you my phone nr.

You should also consider coming on one of the London Owners 964 runs. Usually meet in Surrey and then drive to another pub. Not sure when next is though.

Be good to compare cars, particularly the springs.. my reds feel pretty stiff.
