pretty broad requirements .... "for everyday street use"

as with many things, there are numerous trade-offs to juggle.

budget?
tolerance to harsh suspension?
perference of cornering performance vs comfort?
preferred ride height?
wheel diameter (link to comfort)?
etc

I was recently involved in a discussion involving shocks and springs on the 993 board. Spring rates, etc, etc.....

The last post on the thread was the best advice I have read concerning shocks and springs. Try to locate cars in your area, that you can drive, with different shock/spring set-ups. Ride quality is very subjective and everyone has a different opinion on what is an acceptable ride quality for street use.

Good luck

Are you looking to lower it also or just update the existing and keep the same ride height ? We offer a full line of suspension components.

+1 I have the same. If you're not tracking the car I think this is a good compromise.

I use my 964 as a daily driver. A third of my route has rough areas. I've just kept my suspension stock.
I had Bilstein HD shocks for a time and they were not compliant enough for my particular drive, so I went back to OEM Boge shocks. I did see on Pelican Parts (I think) that Bilstein offers a standard shock, non HD, that may be worth consideration. I will look into that one when I replace my Boge's. Suspension setup is subjective.

Personal taste, usage and performance requirements I guess.

My C4 - pretty much the same; Bilstein B6's, H&R Greens but with an RS +5mm height and a complete geo reset by a well known 911 suspension guru and master here in the UK. Massive performance handling difference without feeling like a bone shaker. If interested in the tech spec and values for this IM me and I'll send over...

Thanks for your input guys

I also spoke with Steve at RennSportSystems. for my daily driving (not track) he is recommending the Bilstein HD and the H&R Sport springs

Anyone know the Bilstein HD model number Steve is referring to so i can look them up?

It sounds like the H&R Sport springs will improve the handling but also stiffens it up also lowers the car 1.25in

i can't find anyone around to test drive this combination so any feedback from you is greatly appreciated

best
glenn

Hey Enso - I'm running the H&R reds (sport) with the old stock shocks and just about to change them out for the HDs - so will have the combo that Steve recommends. There are plenty of others already running that combo and I hear nothing but good reports. I'll be posting when done.

There are many different variants of the HD's including variants for the >1990 and <1990 models so make sure you get the right one - Steve can supply to you.
