i already ordered a set of vintage E28 this week. There is a company in germany with a proper Tüv certificate (yes, we also have tüv hassle with this kind of wheels) for his own kind of centers made from BBS.
Dimension is 8,5 offset 45 front and 10 offset 50 rear. I also have a set of 5-spoke 996 wheels with 8 offset 50 and 10 offset 65 for that car...

What would you recommend for tyre dimensions for this wheel size? The car is a more or less pure track car with a manthey KW comp V2 - tyre should/must be avail size of Michelin Cup2s..

Front: 225-40 or 235-40?
Rear: 265-35 or 285-30?

At my current 18' wheels, the 265-35 (Nankang AR1) is very narrow at 10' width...

Personally Im following this advice in this article as closely as reasonable. Basically on the track go with the tire as close as possible to the wheel width. I recently put a set of 195’s on a 6” wheel and instantly regretted it. I wish I had sized down to 185’s. Grip is grip but feedback build confidence and that goes a lot further for me.

So that would mean a 225 - 40 as 2,54mm * 8,5 is 215,9mm... i am afraid of rubbing between fender and front bumper and as both are full carbon fiber, i am not so happy if i had to cut them out...
So stick with the usual tyre width...

And with the narrow front tyre, i should not increase tyre width rear, because of the tendency of understeer of those cars... even with proper KW comp, everything monoball and a proper manthey setup with loads of camber...

Beautiful wheels, were they custom built? Surprised the LM isn't a more common choice on the 964.

yep they landed. These are the 623 centers. I like these and the 108 center/lip setup almost equally with (call me crazy) a slight advantage to the 108.
I kinda wanted to wait for my suspension/brake refresh so I could install them all at the same time...but I went ahead and ordered tires because I will not be able to resist bolting them on

Massive yes Jeff! They look epic. We are all waiting for the money shot of them on the car. Until then you’ll be sleeping next to them 😂
