I will gladly take all the money once I'm happy with the quality and fit of the panel. So far it's going very well. I have most of the hardware sourced. There will be some minor bracket fabrication necessary, but nothing I couldn't do with the tools at my disposal. I will start sourcing lights and harness next week.

One thing I need help with are the recessed black aluminium washers for Low-Profile Socket Head Cap Screw pictured below. Anyone knows who sells them?

Thanks!
Andrew

This looks amazing - my one concern is will the holes on this panel match the holes on the ducktail panel if you already have one?

I think this is a great idea, but the hole pattern looks odd with the rows disappearing as they go outward due to the curvature of the panel. Maybe a different pattern to eliminate the horizontal rows?

Noticed that a while ago too. Cutting the mesh turned 90 degrees will put the pattern lines vertically and they won't be visible anymore. Take a look at the Magnus duck tail photo from Stance|Works the disappearing unequal pattern lines are on sides of the mesh and barely visible. Beyond the obviously better pattern alignment it is better for bracket alignment as well.

The mesh I am working with is just a prototype.

Thanks!
Andrew

Seems like dobermandad said earlier, a lip of rubber, like those found on a dog's water dish etc would work well. On the Oem part, there's simply a rubber blade/ baffle.

Black high-temperature rubber edge 1/8 - 3/8 trim. It will wrap around the edge and will be secured with M3 8008 Super-Black weatherstrip adhesive. From my research it is also the same trim that Magnus is using. Take a look at the Stance|Works photo at the top of this page.

Thanks!
Andrew

Top to bottom:

- Cardboard mockup
- Prototype
- Hard template with mounting points to align mesh

All that to create Master #1

Silver bracket in the middle is in a prototype phase. The final 3 brackets will be black so they are less visible. The whole construction is quite sturdy.

BTW: Pattern is offset by 90 degrees on the Master #1 to hide any disappearing straight lines due to the curvature of the panel.

Thanks!
Andrew
