That rear window must be custom made.
That aint a cheap mod!
Ive been thinkin of removing my sunroof for sum time.
Id love a carbon skin to replace the roof.

A little update with progress so far. Bought the panel from Fenn Lane (super service) and car is currently with bodyshop having this done, as well as other tidy-ups and Heigo half-cage fitment.

The Alcantara headlining has now been fitted, but the carpets, seats and windows won't now go back in until the New Year.
We had problems with the metal spars (no replies to this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...g-problem.html Ended up cutting the spars shorter to make them fit.

What is the overall weight savings after sunroof removal (include all brackets, channels, motors, wire switches etc). I've searched the site, but so far no love. Anyone know? Many Thanks!!!

993PET has already mentioned the Fenn Lane panel route
Its odd they seem well known in the US but are largely unknown in the UK despite being based in the Midlands!
http://www.imptechnic.co.uk/
Options
Replacement steel panel in correct gauge curvature etc from Fenn Lane (about £170.00 for the panel IIRC)
Replacement fibreglass or carbon sunroof panel bonded in.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-part-1-a.html
Complete replacement roof section (upwards of £1500.00 for the panel I believe)
Weld in existing sunroof panel, the option used in the link below

Or something Ive seen more recently. Strip your existing roof panel down and bond or weld it back in with sealant on the outside, so externally it still looks like you have a sunroof but you still have the advantages of weight saving and increased headroom

I have a friend who is a prototyping engineer and fabricator. I could ask him to make up replacement panels in carbon fiber, but what would you guys want to see? bond in from the inside, just replace the metal but keep functional?

I know that Frank had the splitters made by LWS and Mark has one of their Carbon bonnets. Both very pleased I seem to recall
There are others but LWS are the only UK manufacturer I am aware of

Welding & bonding in the existing sunroof panel is by far the most cost effective method of delete if you're unconcerned that externally it still appears the car does have a sunroof. No parts cost, very little labour (far less welding) and no filler. I guess it comes down to your reasons aesthetics/function. The costs for the other options involving the purchase of an infill panel don't end there. They require far more labour to fit. I mulled over these options for a while (new skin was never on the cards) and eventually opted to weld & bond in the existing panel.
