Default Car cover

What outdoor car cover do people recommend? There are so many on the market. No idea where to begin. My friend just bought a 91 black coupe and keeping it at my house and not enough garage space. It may also be used on the 73' coupe as well. Any suggestions?

Personally I don't recommend any car cover for a car outside. You definitely don't want anything even remotely waterproof; if moisture gets under it - and it will if only condensation - and then it's subjected to hot sunlight terrible things can happen to the paint. And as for non-waterproof ones, they're dust collectors that essentially "sandpaper" your paint as they're put on and taken off.

Better off to let the car sit "naked" and wash it weekly, or whatever. I would never use a cover outside. I do use one in the garage however. Yep, the dust can build up there too, but not as rapidly.

Just my opinion, and like a lot of other things everybody's got one.

Yeah, I understand. I am not a cover fan myself, but need something in the fall here in Boston. Just trying to soften the blow from sticks and acorns and such until I get my 3 car garage built.

Hi,

I bought a cover from specialised covers here in the uk and it's great. It's expensive but probably the best you can get. Perfect fit to the 964 with a very soft lining so it doesn't rub it scratch the paint.

You get what you pay for when it comes to these

+1 for the Specialised Covers from the uk. Just got one for mine, it was expensive, but worth it, as bigunit_ said, but its made to measure your specific car - if you have any added features etc. Normal manufacture and delivery was initially about 4 weeks, but I had it on my car within 2.
Quite a few custom options too, colours etc.

No affiliation, and I know you aren't in the uk, but for those that are looking, then this one certainly is worth another look!
