Default New UK Member: Maritime C2 Coupe

Hi everyone; I joined the site a few months ago and have learned a lot already. I've now purchased my car from a friend and am starting my ownership journey.

Its a 1993 "K" N-VIN C2 Coupe. Originally Cobalt Blue, it was declared a Cat D write-off in 2001 when it was vandalised after a minor prang. It was then an unfinished project for many years until it was refreshed in RS style by Adrian Crawford and painted in Maritime Blue.

I have bought it from a friend who has a few cars and found this to be surplus, having owned it for almost a year. It did feature in the "cars for sale" thread close to its inception. It's done 88k and the engine seems strong, dry and with a good leakdown result.

I did manage to meet a few of you last weekend at the Row Barge meet. I look forward to becoming involved.

It's off to the bodyshop for a tidy-up, and then to http://www.nineexcellence.com in Horley for some snagging and a Heigo roll cage. I hope to do some track days.

Some pics from when it was offered for sale last year; I don't have any decent ones of my own yet.

I remember seeing your car when it was for sale. It is gorgeous. Worth eating your own arm for.

Was that you I saw driving through Knebworth yesterday? If so it was also probably me who past you going the other way a week ago in the red c2.

Lovely car you have there, congrats.

Yes, that was me. I didn't spot you yesterday but I think we managed a wave the week before I'm in Welwyn.

Thanks for the comments guys, I am loving this car. Never had "something for the weekend" before.
