Wiper Blades What size and type
Hi All,
Ive been looking at new wiper blades for the porker and not sure whats best out there. Anyone got any opinions?
PIAA 97055 Si-Tech Silicone Flat Wiper Blade
i had a look at the ones above but not sure what size and what type are best to clear the screen properly
Size is easy to find out but best make is down to opinion.
let me know what you think.

The only blades I've found to be any good are Porsche original. Compared to all others they are thin, almost delicate, and work with our very flimsy wiper arms. You also need to have the later 'two spring wiper arms' to get a reasonable wipe of the screen. Even then, 964 window wipers are rubbish compared to those of modern cars!

I use Bosch and they pretty much miss more of the window than they hit. I dont drive the car in the rain unless i am caught out in it so doesnt really matter to me.

I use Bosch ones and when I got new ones they were 10 times better than my haggered old ones so in contrast I was happy.
I also use RainX on my screen - I'm sure there are lots of similar products. Light rain just beads off. And heavy rain dissipates much better. I use the wipers much less. I actually rub it on all the glass to make it safer all round.
AND, I had a new windscreen put in - and that's the real difference! Any wiper over an old screen with a surface like the moon is going to struggle. the new screen wipes clear so much better.

I put PIAA blades on the wife's Mini. They came with a little packet of stuff to put on the windshield, which is probably a lot like rain-x. After about a month the blades started squeaking horribly. The only way to keep them from squeaking is to use rain-x, pretty annoying.
I recent fit some Trico, only because that was the only blade the local auto parts place had in the correct size. They fit well, but I haven't used them yet.

ScottR - agree RAINX is a wonderful solution, the rain does bead of nice. Like you i add it on all windows as it makes sense to have them all working the same.
The screen is a bit pitted but not really bad.
