New Hood...What Colour?
Hello All,
I need to get a new hood for my cabrio, but it is the colour that is proving the hard choice.
I will try and get the 993 style for it, as the lines are a lot nicer, however what colour to go with? Here is it with a very faded 20yo hood which i presume started off as dark blue...but now looks like lavender!
So do i go with dark blue again, or black, which some think will look better? Interior has blue dash and blue piping
Cheers

First, the thing that covers the cockpit is called a TOP. The thing that covers the front of the car is called a HOOD, and the thing that covers the rear portion of a car is called a TRUNK.
Now you've had your American Language lesson
Get the COLOR blue!

Haha...thanks for the lesson in Americanizm's (see what i did there with the zee)
Looks like dark blue is the way forward. So for the next Q, who would be best to fit a 993 style (one piece) hood/roof on? JZM gave me a good quote a while back...i am no where near competent enough to do this job myself.
Thanks again

here's a thread comparing the 964 top and 993 top on the same cab.

and I also vote for dark blue

Second the vote for blue - dark blue
I always thought that the "hood" covered the engine, as "engine hood" and the 'trunk' was referred to as the storage area, as "put your suitcase in the trunk". So are we not backwards - and what about the term "bonnet".

5. (Clothing & Fashion) a hoodlike garment worn over an academic gown, indicating its wearer's degree and university
