Default speedometer acting up

hey guys, my 93 C4 speedometer has been acting up the last few weeks..
it doesnt work right away from take offs unless i floor it or turn the wheel to the left. otherwise, it works while driving. no lights or other issues.
i am guessing the speed sensor if failing. i think it is in the front left wheel, but i dont know how it looks or how to get to it.
please advice
Mike

pull the plug off and clean the prongs with a pencil eraser or emory cloth.

the plug is on the back of the speedometer. You dont need to pull the wheel off.

i believe the problem is somewhere in the front left wheel. i noticed today when i hit small bumps the needle will work right away, ever at very slow speeds. anyone know if there is a sensor by the driver's side wheel?

I may be wrong, but I would think that # 12 is for the ABS.

#12 is the ABS sensor. On the 1991 and later cars, the speedometer speed comes from the ABS sensor via a special conversion circuit in the frunk relay box.
