I bought another Porsche
Hey Guys,
After a few months of not having a 951, I found a great example locally and bought it. Now I have 2 fast guards red Porsches. They are apples and oranges as far as driving is concerned. This '86 951 I picked up has no dash cracks, good interior, a beautiful paint job, and is mechanically great. Most of the 951s I come across were not taken care of like they should have been, this car was taken care of like a 911. One of the previous owners put on some 993TT Twist wheels and put spacers that are a little too big and I have a tire rubbing on the front. I wonder which one would win a drag race... if you were to do stuff like that.

Congratulations! Very nice. I have a soft spot for the 951... mine is still in the family, gave it to the brother-in-law with the condition that he can't sell it...comes back to me if he wants to get rid of it.

Hilarious last picture (look at the wheels!)
Re: which Porsche would win a drag race...first world problems.
(but seriously, stock vs stock based on power-to-weight the 964 should win - 13.36 vs. 12.55 lbs/hp. But we all know that the 951 would win with a small investment in mods...)

Great buy and the perfect combination of Porsches. I think the Turbo/S2s are real lookers. It certainly is getting very hard to find a good 944 Turbo. Unfortunately in the UK the prices bottomed so low that too many seem to have been held by owners that really couldn't afford the Porsche bills. Also, too many of them modded to death. Ran both mine with an Autothority Stage 2 chip and a Boost Enhancer. Really woke them up low down and no reliabilty issues. Will own one again...have fun

Gratuitous pictures of my last one. Let's see more of yours please! Are you going to keep the Twists? Had Cups on mine, but really should have put the D90s back on.

Just like 964s, 951s still look great on the road.
A 951 was the first Porsche I drove.
