Default Repainting an rsa America?

Just curious-what's peoples opinion on repainting my rsa America? It's already been repainted it's original black, but I've never been much of a black car person...I'm quite keen on the midnight blue, but seeing a fellow rennlist's Mexico blue rsa makes me think twice!

Also, what does a good paint job cost, and can anyone recommend a good shop in the ny/nj area?

Thanks!

Phil

Hey Phil,

If I needed a car redone in the North East I would send it up to Automobile Association in Canton, CT http://automobileassociates.com/

You're going to get lot's of figures thrown out at you.
A factory quality paint job with the shop doing all the prep work, should be 12-15k or more.

I basically agree, to do it right by a quality shop would be just over, or around, five figures.

And of course, the price only goes up from there. Engine out, stripping interior, glass out, body off, etc...

There is a local shop that recently prepped a Mercedes 300 sl gullwing coupe for Pebble Beach. Paint work alone was very close to 6 figures. Top quality work never comes cheap.

I think you might be right...ok, so then, there's the old family favorite, matte black-but what about something a bit more surprising? Army green? Matte dark grey? Mexico blue? Dark matte blue?

Any suggestions?

I'm eventually wrapping mine in Gulf Orange. But if you beat me to it I'll drive up to NJ and peel it back off!
