Knock.
Why would i have a bad knock?
I am 5k post fresh top-end rebuild... New dizzy belt, new rotors and caps. everything checked out fine. And I have been hearing a nastly knock...
Only thing I can think of is caps or coils?
Anyone have any ideas?

well - it only happens when I am driving - and sounds like the right hand side of the engine - so cylindars 4, 5, or 6, I think...
it may not be knock - but sure does sound like it....

When you say "knock", do you mean the "pinging" you get from retarded spark, poor fuel, broken distributor belt, etc., or do you mean a hard "knocking" sound, like bad bearings, bent valves, etc.??

knock like pinging - standard engine knock noise...it's just confusing what would cause it - EVERYTING on this car is basically new at this point (except the knock sensors, of course - but they should be fine...)

When does the knocking happen? When driving steady or hard acceleration or deceleration? Have you ruled out external causes like a faulty engine mount or something similar?

The signs of my bad bearing were a "knock" at neutral acceleration, i.e. no load on the engine from acceleration or deceleration.
If yours is happening on acceleration it could be a problem with the knock sensors. Mine weren't communicating right when I put it back together, and had to diagnose that one.
