I'm sure I've seen engines on stands while being rebuild with the case in one piece and the chain cases not even fitted yet. I may be wrong though. Personally I'd get them to fix whatever leaks they can without dropping the engine, give everything a clean and see what's what after 100-200 miles.

H&R anti roll bars do make a great difference I've heard.
It is not necessary to drop the engine to fix these leaks, it could also be something as simple as the small rubber seals on each nut rather than the seals mentioned above. Once the area is cleaned the leak will be fairly easy to locate.

I dont know what oil is being used, obviously if its too thin then leaks will follow. 5w 40 or 10w 50 are fine.

I wouldnt mess around with coating the arb's, H&R come with all new bushes and they are not expensive, around £300 the pair if my memory serves me well.

A quick report back on this thread...

I ended up getting three oil leaks fixed at RPM Technik and while it was there I had the suspension completely refreshed - KWv1's fitted, polybushes fitted all round etc etc plus new brake lines disks, pads and some other bits and pieces. I also found a set of Cup 1s and had those fitted although I now need some silver centre caps.

I am overjoyed with the suspension changes. It felt pretty good on the old set up but it is so much more pointy now and although certainly firmer, by no means uncomfortably so:

Nice car there BillyB, we are in a similar position; I have just purchased a C2 too.

Whereabouts are you? I'm in Welwyn, and a colleague's son is a tech @ RPM.

I'm in Hemel. We should arrange a Herts "club" run

What is your colleague's son's name? I might know him
