Default Odometer issue

Hi all,

My 964 is frustratingly off the road here in the UK due to what appears to be a broken odometer. It has been to two separate companies now both of which have advised that it cannot be rectified. The last place 'Speedy Cables' sourced a new plastic gear only to advise that it does not fit correctly or work.

Has anybody experienced a similar issue and managed to fix it? What are the options if it just can't be fixed...car is currently sitting with OPC Byfleet who themselves cannot offer a solution.

Advice greatly appreciated.
Tim

I sent mine to North Hollywood Speedometer.

Maybe you can send yours to them or at least get the right part to fix it yourself.

Tim,
Don't use Opc's. Try ringing gt one in Chertsey first. Also Russell Lewis 01428602911, he's not the most reliable but knows more than most.

If any of them have pictures of the gear that is worn, perhaps that can help you find the replacement part on odometergears.com

There are different types and perhaps the guys you went with only had one type. Not that I know that much of it, but it was easily identifyable when it was out.
