finished Valve adjustment, loose valve! Should I redo all of them?
Should I do all of them or just open up the bottom driver's side where I think the loose one is? I am not in the mood to do them all again. I used a regular feeler guage, and it was my first time so prob why I was a little nervous to over tighten and messed up. I can hear a distint "clack" of what sounds like one valve. I guess I will always question the job I did if I don't just take everything apart and do it all over again. Maybe just open up the one side and order the right gauge tool and gasket set and do them again if it bothers me down the road? I need the car so can't just order gauge tool and wait all week. Sorry, I am a perfectonist..Just looking for another opinon.

Sounds like you need to go and double check all of them, you will be super fast the second tIme around.
This happened to me as well and the second time around I flew through the procedure and fixed the problem. Look up the backside method as well.

How much time will you really save by doing just one?
Think of the lost time if it's two valves and you only find out after getting her back on the road...
I'd go all over it again... being a perfectionist.
How about drive the red one from your avatar while the blue one is down?

The 73 coupe is going to be to road worthy in the next two weeks. It is heading over to Porsche fest Sept 8 at Lars Anderson museum. My friend Found it at boston police auction for $2200 as a almost running CA car. Just needed some tlc. Someone pulled out plug wires and had not ran for yrs. runs perfect... I think I will just do all the valves again on the 90' Here I go!

Also. Heard no valve noise prior to adjustment, that's why I did it cause it made me nervous and no record of it been done in a long time. And I have put on 17k miles in 10 months.

I did the exact same thing my first 964 valve adjust. The "drag" on the feeler is really a tight "drag". I had to completely redo mine after the first one. It is a learning process.

I finished a couple hrs ago redoing all the valves. Much better now. I thought I may of heard a little clacking when car was super hot. Not sure what is normal since all my valves were tight. Could be hearing a leak at cat since used old gasket a couple a times. What is normal sound like? I know, hard to explain here.

Unless you do this for a living, I'd kindly suggest having the right tools and redoing the whole job for peace of mine. Plus,...you'll get more experience and that's a good thing in every respect.

What's nice about the backside method or doublecheck is that its a go or no-go type of measurement and you can be confident with it.
