Default Fabspeed Maxflow RSR Exhaust?

Anyone using Fabspeed's Maxflow RSR exhaust on their car? Would like to hear opinions. Giving it serious consideration.

Many thanks,

Dan

I ran the Maxflow with dual outlets on my 964 for about a year..it was too loud and I wound up capping off the left outlet...did not try putting baffles in it..

I have the Fabspeed with the dual exhaust. Yes, it is loud, and it will droan between 3000 and 4000 RPM. I made a 2 1/4" diameter plate that fits into the driver's side pipe to create backpressure and control the droan.

It is removeable in less than 10 minutes for when I go to the track.

Here's a post from a year ago on how to make the baffle:

It's a 2 1/4" diameter SS plate that fits inside of the left exhaust tip. It's held in by 2 flat head screws, which have the heads on the inside. I widened the slots to accept the plate. The screws are 180 apart. To install, I position the screw heads with the slots parallel to the flow, insert the plate, then spin it 90 degrees to block off most of the opening. On the outside, I use 2 nuts on each screw to lock them in position.

Once it's positioned properly, I just reinsert the tip onto the muffler... dual exhaust look, with a little rumble out of the left, but the proper amount of backpressure for daily driving.

For DE'ing, I just pull the tip off and remove the plate...now full dual exhaust.

I had a set on my car, but not for very long. I couldn't live the the DRONE and besides the fit was absolutely terrible, ended up taking it off and returned it to Fabspeed for a refund.
Another reason I returned mine was the car felt slower than with the stock system, never did a real dyno comparison, so that was just my seat of pants dyno.

Appreciate every ones opinion.Presently I'm running a Fabspeed cat by pass pipe and Dansk G secondary muffler by pass pipe. I'm actually pretty satisfied with its sound and performance. Thought it would be nice to get get some additional horsepower and weight off the back of the car. I suppose I will have to do some additional research and see what else is out there.

Many thanks,

Dan

Get a cat and secondary muffler bypass ... you'll free up the exhaust and save some weight

I´ve 200-cell cat and cup-pipe with stock muffler in the end yet. It sounds good but i thought that a full exhaust-solution could perform a bit better in sound- and power-output...

I think the headers are said to gain 20 extra-horsepowers?!

Hi All,

I just wanted to update this thread and say we have a new RSR muffler for guys that do a lot of street driving. There is no drone with this new muffler and it still sounds very aggressive.

Chris, what does the new muffler cost, and can you tell me how many db it would put out?

Either combination is nice. I have a cat bypass and a primary bypass. Loudish but intoxicating. Cheaper as well. From what I can tell, after market headers don't do much for this engine. Airbox, Wong chip, cat bypass and either a primary or secondary bypass seems to be the best bolt on solution.

Oops...didn't notice that this is a re-animated thread.

I should clarify that this muffler is only for the RSR Header Muffler system, it is not for cars with stock heat exchangers.

I will test the dB later today, from 50 ft. away as most tracks do. This test will be on Fabspeed's Andial built 3.8 liter, so it will be slightly louder than your typical 3.2/3.6.

As for cost, the price is the same as the current header/muffler kit, but if you wish to retrofit this onto your existing RSR Header muffler kit, give us a call and we can work something out.

I have the FabSpeed cat bypass and dual outlet exhaust. I love it! The fitment isn't the best but it just takes a little ingenuity to get it all situated.
