Thanks for all the suggestions. I've checked all the switches and tried to disarm the unit from both doors. There does not seem to be any water in the unit, but this did happen after a rainstorm.

Best news so far is the the alarm control unit appears to be part number 928 637 104 05. List is US $168.00. A different unit is required for MY '91 and newer cars.

I have gone about as far with this as I can. The factory manual troubleshooting section refers to an electronic diagnostic tool to read the codes. I have a scan tool device but the 964 scan tool software does not seem to have an alarm code reader. Furthermore I can't really work on this as the alarm horn sounds as soon as the battery is connected and I have a neighbor who is not happy with the noise. The car is off to the dealership tomorrow.

For anyone who is searching the archives, here is how you can lock the car should you have to disconnect the battery to silence the alarm horn. Connect the battery lead, lock the doors and then disconnect the lead. Shut the hood. The car will be locked.

I will post the results once this is sorted out.

The alarm would not shut off as of last Saturday. I had the car towed to the dealership. On Monday they could not duplicate the problem or find any evidence of a bad switch or water intrusion. It sat there all week. They ran it through the wash, and it rained. No alarm. Given Murphy's law I will not be surprised it it sounds this afternoon when it rains, but so far it seems to be ok.

You've got Leprechauns screwing with you! Tonight, pray to an Irish saint for intercession and determine what rocks, etc. you might have moved around your garage area that set them off, and correct the situation. Between the two efforts forgiveness and harmony will be back to normal.

My car is also doing this. Although I have yet to take it to the Dealership.

Did you ever fix yours?
