Default 964 Alarm issue - similar yet different

I have a (US) '90 C2 Coupe with factory alarm and after 6 years of no issues, the alarm has decided to act up.

- With the doors, front boot, engine bay and glove box closed, I can lock both passenger and driver's door and the LED's come on and flash normally.

But...

- If I unlock either door, and open the door the alarm goes sounds; I put the key back in the door and turn to unlock and the alarm stops

- With alarm stopped and driver's door open I try to start the car and the alarm goes off, car will not start

Doors lock and unlock normally, and I can lock the doors from the center console switch and either door from inside the car using the door *****.

Using the advice I found here on Rennlist, I got my wife (smaller hands) to pull the Alarm module out from behind the passenger side front boot hinge. I have opened the unit and I now have to test it and or replace it.

Any ideas? My issue does not look exactly like any of the other ones I have seen here. Could it be the microswitch issue, but on both doors?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Did you ever get this sorted out? I have the exact same issue with my 964 and can't get it resolved. Any insight would be really appreciated!

So I had the module checked and repaired, then replaced it in the car... same thing. Next I will purchase a new working module and try that. After that I may just send it out to have the door lock activators changed, or find the time to do it myself... I have less and less time to do these things... I just want to drive! At least my Boxster has been trouble free for the last 11 years (knock on wood)!
