Cheers Tony. Glad to hear you are coming to Spa - we needed more red 964s, yours is always a fine addition!

The Red Devil's red mist is intoxicating! I may just have to take you up on the offer or at least ride shot gun! Thanks. PS. What's a 'C2' ?

Hey Frank, hope you had a good holiday break. Was just wondering how your car was coming along from the other side of the world...

Hi Sean,

Good break thanks - and you?

No news, plan to call Nick for an update tomorrow at some point.

Your avatar is spectacular! Can you post a high res here? How's the 64 treating you?

Yes, all good thanks. Looking fwd to the new year and new track time though.

Thanks mate, I have updated my project thread with a link to high res photos and some track vids for you. Loving the car, starting to get a feel for it and working on the setup fine tuning at the moment. Gently does it but going a lot quicker than what I was!

Look fwd to your update.

Hi Jota,

No real news sadly,

Cams are going in very soon, which mean engine back in soon, which means exhaust soon. So photos soon!

ITBs are what will be/ are slowing down the project. Nick offered to set the car up on a high butterfly system to get me back on the road until the flat slides are ready to go in. But I'm relaxed and on no deadline as long as it's ready for Spa in March.

At present - we are still comfortably within budget without any signs of it changing. At this rate I expect the car to be back end of Feb. My only issue is my own impatience!

Anyway, liking your sig. How's the roof coming along on Old Union?

You must be going out of your mind waiting?! Any idea what the motor will put out? Great sounding build. Every time I see your car I want to respray mine.... sigh. Looking forward to a new SPA movie now.

I am going crazy with impatience and only have myself to blame as in the knowledge it would take time its self imposed!

Speculating and claiming always get mixed up! But we're confident it will push out over 350... Are only restriction is the heads at this point. We'll see how Nick's turn out and take it from there.

Have you got Daffy back yet?!

Ps. Paint doesn't make you faster

Hi Frank

As you have clearly done exhaustive research on the topic...I was curious to know what is the maximum power output that you can achieve (safely) from a 3.6 non turbo engine??

And...

Will Black Betty be maxed to the max or could you actually go further??

And finally....

What sort of top speed and 0-60 do you think you will get with the mods??

cheers

No expert by any stretch of the imagination. I recon the maximum naturally aspirated 3.6 would be around 350 with it still being drivable.

No. You could go further - one can always!
The cams could have an even more aggressive grind but this would be a compromise on the road. Stalling at low speed, launching and crawling would be a nightmare with the car constantly wanting to escape. Fine for a race car though.
The heads could be custom Gamroth items for example, the flow design would be the key. However new heads are an expense I can't afford/ justify - so we're customising the standard ones. From my understanding the standard heads are one of the biggest restrictions.

Top speed would remain probably similar due to the standard gearing - not that I would ever have the brass!

0-60 somewhere in the 4 second ballpark I suspect.

Anyway how's the roof coming along?!
