Don't fight guys, if any car has to go it'll be the Fezza The 300R is going to be the last possession that I part with on my deathbed
Good spot though Paul, I bought it a couple of months ago to scratch the Ferrari itch, always had a soft spot for the F355 and don't like the newer ones nearly as much. IMO it is the best-looking Ferrari other than the 250GTO. And it is so different from the 300R, it sounds like an F1 car. Anyway, I blame Frank - what started it all off was the two of us looking at them at the Supercar Sunday at Goodwood a few months back, I went on Pistonheads that night and less than month later after viewing only 3 cars in person, there I was... Heresy on Rennlist, but a gratuitous pic of car attached anyway!
Back on topic, I am looking pretty good for Sunday if anyone is still interested...

I have fond memories of putting one of those through its paces about 15 years ago around Thruxton. I remember being a little disappointed by how refined it felt, but loved it all the same.
You'll have to bring it along to a meet one of these days.

Thanks, everyone! I'll definitely bring it to one of the meets. It just went in for a service and to get a few nits corrected that were identified in the PPI (and to change that awful 1990's pillow airbag steering wheel and cheap aftermarket stereo for a wheel off of a 360 Modena and a Ferrari Becker stereo nav unit off of a 430 - thanks fleabay!), so it'll be a couple of months. Requested pic of interior below (I'm not sure why Ferrari thought putting bordeaux carpets in a rosso corsa car was a good idea, but I can tell you that they clash badly in person! That may be a future change if I can be bothered).
Frank, it is an interesting question - the 300R feels faster, particularly in a straight line. I've only driven it five times, but the Fezza feels like it has about 250 "Porsche" horsepower - the extra torque from the 3.8, the 100KG weight difference and the engine over the rear wheels makes such a difference. The power steering in the 355 is too light for my taste, I can basically twirl it with two fingers. The clutch is much easier to modulate on the 355 (I've got an SMF on the 300R). The noise.... well, they are both great sounds, but at full chat I have to say that the 355 is absolutely amazing. Part of it is that it is (deliberately) a GTS and I've only driven it with the roof panel off, so you can really hear what is going on. It has a Tubi Evo exhaust on it and Larini sports cats, btw; I hear that a Capristo is a must-have on a 355 so that may be an upgrade when wallet permits, but as it is it already sounds like an F1 car to my ears. The 355 is a well-balanced and fun car though; both cars easily exceed my limits as a driver and both are fun and an event to drive at legal speeds, which is what I care about more than having the latest car or the most horsepower. And the fact that they are my two favourite shapes in car-dom.... I've spent a lot of time just walking around that 355. It'll be fun just to polish it in the winter (honest!). And the funny thing is, they are such different experiences in a lot of ways, there isn't as much "overlap" (for lack of a better word) as I thought there might be, I can see myself picking one over the other based on what sort of drive I want, which goes a tiny way towards justifying having two weekend cars....

No problem, Frank. I'm sure I'm not doing it justice! You'll just need to try for yourself... Anyway, how's BB? flat slide ITBs going on soon?
It doesn't look like anyone else is up for a meeting Sunday. If anyone does want to meet up, let me know as I'm going for my weekly Sunday early morning drive in Surrey/West Sussex regardless...
