Default cold start noise, disappears in 5-10 minutes

My car is doing a strange noise in cold start, a "ding ding ding" like if something. e.g. some belts were loose,(and they are not) but after running for 5-10 minutes it disappears and the engine sounds normal again.

Could this be a DMF forthcoming failure?

I had a weird rattle on cold starts and traced it to a cat heat shield that was just slightly loose.

Should be relatively easy to find if it does it for 5 minutes, no? Use a mechanic's stethoscope.

My RS has done this ever since I bought it - 9meister think that it is a little play in the timing chain that is not being taken up be the tensioner which is taken up once the engine it hot.

Just an idea.....
