The first thing that has to go is the wood trim. The rest of the car looks clean from the pictures, but seeing it in person and driving it would confirm this. The reserve price should be around 42-44K.

Yes. The America Roadster has the turbo widebody, suspension and brakes. My wife and I still own a black one displayed in avatar since new, and the one listed on eBay is mightly clean. Would be interesting to get a twin...

Beautiful GQ !! Someone paid twice that for this car (tax, licensing, etc) twenty years ago in 1992 dollars. Somebody'll snap it up. Sure they'll keep the wood, too! I think quite a few of those Roadsters were Tip. I never liked the widebody look, but that car is very tempting.

Its a shame about the tip. The car is absolutley beautiful, less the dash which is an easy fix.

The Light Rootwood trim on the dash and shifter are rare Porsche factory 'Exclusiv' options as annotated on the Option Sticker. Light Rootwood Tiptronic X17 Dash, X25 Shifter. With a rare car like this I wouldn't touch them.

From the looks of the pics I'd say the car is well-priced at $44k.

anyone interested may want to talk to norbert franz who maintains a global registry covering most of the 1100 or so 92 wtl cabs of which a little better than 300 were imported to n.amer. with 'roadster' badge (european editions were badged carrera 2 or were badgeless).
good chance he may have some info on the car....if not outstanding source of info on the edition.

IMHO, nothing. The interior would take a bit for me to adjust to.

I like the uniqueness of the interior. Car looks amazingly clean inside, outside and upside down......

If it passed a thorough PPI(compression, leak down, etc.) it would be a nice pick-up!

Default So what kind of premium would you pay for an America Roadster?

Just curious, what would what you pay difference between a regular cabriolet and an America Roadster? Assuming identical condition otherwise? 20% more?

Thanks.

That is an interesting thought and the premium on an AR seems to run into ~2x the value of a similar condition C2 Cab. I guess this is not much different than the pricing on a narrorw body 3.2 Carrera vs. one with M491 option. And if one were to use Speedster to compare to regular C2/Carrera 3.2 cab, I think the pricing delta ratio would be even greater.

Looking back, I wish I had picked up an '89 Speedster when they were in the $40K's.
