And if one were to use Speedster to compare to regular C2/Carrera 3.2 cab, I think the pricing delta ratio would be even greater.

Looking back, I wish I had picked up an '89 Speedster when they were in the $40K's.
Thanks, that is very interesting and more than I would have guessed. However, my experience with low number production was with a 1980 Weissach coupe (what a great little car, though). I think the Weissach might be worth a couple more thousand than a similar coupe. The America Roadster is similar in numbers, but the changes from the "standard" are more dramatic, aren't they?

That is very nice, excellent appearing. Seems like a reasonable price. Mine is a Tip and for this car it is no big deal. After all this is not a track car.

MAB Badgerbimmer, I love your car and you beat me to Ruf by a couple of days. If you ever decide to move onto something else, I would be interested in getting another one.

This America Roadster was for sale in the mid 30s last year. It was also offered in auctions. It was at least two years in the market...
Now a dealer is trying to make more than 10000 $ on it - and I am sure, he will make his money.
The prices of the AR and also the 964 Widebody have increased approx. 20 to 30% within the last year.

The prices of "limited run" 964s have all begun to climb steadily in the last few years - 964 Speedsters, C4 Widebodys, '92 US Cup Cars, '92 America Roadsters and '93/'94 RSAs with low miles (no track) are all climbing...

I had an offer last summer on my '94 Speedster from Europe (sight unseen) for $80K. Speaking for Speedsters only, most buyers are from abroad (Europe & Asia)

WRT to this America Roadster, I think the TIP is the only reason it hasn't sold over the last two years...

Sorry, I totally disagree.

You have a skin in the game, as you have an automatic transmission, but trust me, having an air-cooled Porsche with a Tip is a major reason why this car is having a hard time selling; it reduces the desirability of the car substantially.

Sold mine about 4-5 years ago. Wish I keeped it, but ran out of room. The MSRP on mine was $109k, pretty high for a non turbo. One of the major reasons it didn't sell too good and years later making it rare. The tip will make it harder to sell, but will always be a buyer sooner or later and at what price. If they made the 94 speedster a widebody, I would of bought one of those.

Don't know why you're dumpin' on wood trim items. I kinda dig it! Too bad they didn't put wine red interior in it, rather than the "tuxedo" look; woulda sold in a "Paramus New York minute'.

If its a '92, it should have the updated Tip; the one where you can start in 1st gear, rather than 2nd. No?

Please excuse the half-century old jargon! Change that to "highly intelligent Deutschlander". P.s., I'm about 80%+ of German extraction.
