My two passions are Porsches, and electric guitars.

What a sad day that Butzi Porsche and Jim Marshall both passed away.

RIP Butzi.

Great quote for the Bloomberg link above:

“As creator of the Porsche 911, he established a design culture that molds our sportscars still today,” Matthias Mueller, chief executive officer of Porsche AG, said in an e- mailed statement. “His philosophy of good design is for us a legacy that we will also honor in the future.”

Thanks for creating the dream for so many.
My new guiding principle as an engineer:
“design must be functional and the functionality must be visually implemented without gags that need to be explained,”

A sad day indeed. Every time I drive my 964 or my fathers 68 912 I get to drive in his inspiration, his design, his legacy. I even hold onto a Porsche Design steering wheel with "Designed by F.A. Porsche" stamped on it. He will never be forgotten in this community.

Not sure what more could be said.

Sorely missed but never forgotten.
