Default Perlon felt or lightweight plush?

I am about to order my RS America door panels and carpet set from APP Biz ( no affiliation ) I really haven't seen either one in person yet so I am asking for your opinions on what my fellow rennlisters think about them.

I am putting in Perlon and it really is like a thick felt.

It is easy to cut and mold to shape but has absolutely no pile so dirt shows easily as the dirt can't sink down in.

This is a great thread by RL member bpras@msn.com
He did a great job on his interior using an Appbiz Dark Perlon RS Carpet Set.
Full of pictures and helpful details.

I'm living vicariously through you guys. All of these projects are so fun to watch...and I'm learning a lot.
Plus, it's fun to spend other people's money!

The threads I am using for the install are here and here.

Marc

I'll take a few pics as I go but I doubt it will be anything definitive.

Nice!

What is the weight saving from the lightweight carpet sets for the 964?

PS. Good to know I am not the only crazy person around here.

It's been like this for a couple years....
When I put my order in from him he sounds real laid back and sort of got a image of him smoking a pipe in jeans and t shirt just bumbling along doing his thing in his own time......

Probably only on the www as some one told him he needs to be......

Nice guy to deal with though..

Not sure on the weight savings from just the carpet but I am binning the rear seats and sound deadening. I have read that its somewhere between 50-80lbs..

Very laid back. I spoke to him today and decided on the lightweight plush.
