Default under seat subwoofer

Was thnking to install an under-seat subwoofer under the passenger's seat - not to get too boomy, but to fill in the lows missing from the rest of the system.

Has anyone done this? What under seat subs fit? I was looking at a Pioneer and a Kenwood - both are tiny, but dont seem to be available in the states.

Will there be any issues with the electronics under the seat to watch out for?

Not sure how they do it - but my new BMW has a pair of subs under the front seats and it sure works!

Let us know if you manage to do this - would be a great approach.

Dont think i'd put one there, space is limited and dme controller lives there, that alone would put me off. Big speaker / magnet and dme electronics in close proximity...mmm

Yes would love to see it...

Was looking at http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/subwo...-c-698_52.html
Check out the Pioneer TS-WX210A and the Kenwood KSC-SW01 - Both could be made to work, I thnk....

But seems neither is available in the states...

As to the DME - thats under my driver's seat. So no worries there - looks like I have my alarm controller under the passenger seat. And another box that I havent figured out yet -but iif the sub is shielded, it should be ok...I just need to find out where to buy one in the states...

FOCAL makes a powered underseat sub. Another rennlister with a stunning 964 speedster has it, and is impressed.

I spent a lot of time looking into doing this and at the end of the day was not able to find one that would fit under the seat. I did however find a few that would sit behind in the footwell (can't recall which ones but they were designed to go under or behind the seats of pickups.

I ended up putting a pair of 8" subs into enclosures made by Car Audio Innovations. Of course I lost the use of the footwells back there but the bass is amazing (and I'm not a big bass guy).

Totally changed everything about car audio in a 964. No more pretending that I only need the sound of that boxer engine back there as it is "a symphony in itself blah blah blah"

Thanks John for the kind comments I love my 964 have list of updates to do tear drops basket handle etc etc I have the parts just getting round to fitting them. I see so many nice 964's on this forum.
The bass from the Wookie is really good and it is reversible so is the 6" speakers I put in the door cards and tweeters which hide behind stock tweeter grills.

The best subwoofer mount I've ever seen was many years back...it was an 8" or 10" sub mounted in the upper passenger footwell under the dash...it barely compromised the passenger footwell and was invisible unless you were specifically looking.

Btw, the other box under the passenger seat is most likely the original Bosch amp that came with the original radio. It was on my C2. For what it's worth, I could not even get a small amp fitting under the seat - but I have my seats in the lowest position.
