as title suggest my Odometer appears to have given up the ghost, only just noticed however it appears to have the case at least since December 2011 when the last MOT was done.
I have all previous MOT's indicating the annual mileage and so pretty sure it has just broken as oppose to being tampered with. Car is in for service next month, is this a biggie to fix?
Doing the repares on the odometer is not bad at all. I replaced my gears about 2 months ago and was shaking before but have been into to a few times since then.
Bone head move the gear was putty so opened it up replced the gear back together drive works for about 7 tenths of a mile then stops ,, I take it apart repeat... THEN !!! I realize the tooth is missing off the old gear open it back up look at the other gears WOW !! there is the missing tooth. Pocket knife clean the tooth out been working great .. Was nervous about the needle and was touch and go the first time taking it off but not a big deal. The worst part was taking off the benzle.
Now had the benzle and sleeve on the computer for a bit and granddaught figures its new toys aboy.. Now missing so shipping off to Hollywood Speedo 35 for the benzle and 5 for the rubber sleeve. I was going to do it mysefl but was told we have the machine to install the benzle and get a good seal. Make sense.
kyle Johnston I am out toward Galveston drop a line ..
Any one wanting to do the work reallly easy to do ....
And +1 on the bonehead move. I took mine apart only to find I had oredered the wrong gear. Put it back together and never got around to giving it another shot.
Just discovered today my odometer not working, speedo works fine. Was going to come on and see if I could figure where to start looking as a week or so ago I noticed the spoiler staying in the up position. I have a Tiptronic.

Probably should bring the book down to Florida since the car is here full time. But you guys are all the help I usually need. I saw several mentions of the spoiler and odometer in the same thread but no correlation between the two items.
There is an ABS relay that might be the source of an odometer and spoiler not functioning. I understand it could be the sensor as well but for me it was a relay.

So..... Are you saying you had the exact issue I am having? Odometer and spoiler not functioning... I love replacing relays to solve problems!
It's been a little while now so forgive my bad memory. The link below describes typical symptoms. It doesn't reference the odometer but I remember it being part of the problem I had.
