Rear HD’s require an external bump stop on a 964. Just installed a set on mine last week.

I specifically referenced the Bilstein B16 PSS9 and PSS10. These are an upgrade from the stock struts. They provide 9 or 10 settings from Sport 1 to Comfort 9 or 10 and a dual spring design.

There are no bump stops separate from the shocks provided, because they are internal. The dust cover does not have an opening that fits a bump stop. The shocks are painted silver with blue springs

If you installed new OEM spec shocks you installed the Bilstein B6 http://www.bilstein-shop.com/porsche...a6f1a2brj23245
The B6 are not adjustable, the rear shocks come with a dust cover that fits a bump stop and the rears come with bump stops. The shocks are painted yellow and do not come with springs.

So if you installed bump stops on a B16, you did it wrong, however if you installed them on a B6 you are fine.

Hope that helps,
Robin.

I'm going with Bilstein HD's and H&R red springs with ride height set at near euro RS.

In searching the archives I am finding conflicting information about the need for rear bumpstops.

The part numbers for the Bilsteins are:

Part Number: 24-017350
Setting: B6 (HD)
Position: Rear
Old Part Number: F4-B46-1735-H2
Quantity Per Vehicle: 2

Part Number: 35-052784
Setting: B6 (HD)
Position: Front Right
Old Part Number: F4-VE3-5278-H3
Quantity Per Vehicle: 1

Part Number: 35-052777
Setting: B6 (HD)
Position: Front Left
Old Part Number: F4-VE3-5277-H3
Quantity Per Vehicle: 1

Will I need to order the OEM RS bumpstops?

Finally, will there be any issues with negative camber at RS ride height?

Thanks!

Jim

Note that the thread you resurrected from 2012 was referencing B6 Bilsteins.

I can confirm that other older Bilsteins also require rear bump stops. These are RUF Bilsteins from the ‘90s which look a lot like modern B6s.

Resurrecting this thread as I just bought a B8 kit from Gert. The front struts have bumpstops already on them, but the rears do not. Are the rears internally damped or not? Checking the Bilstein website now...

Bilstein PSS9 and PSS10 (these have the same internals) have internal bump stops, which makes sense given the cost of these shocks.
