yellow oil cap loose?
Help needed took out air box and on refitting I removed yellow oil filler cap to ease with reassembly. On finishing when I proceeded to tighten oil cap it kept going slightly hard to turn then would make a click noise and loosen again is this a faulty oil cap or do they all do that ?
Tried searching but nothing informative came up I am limited using iphone app

According to my copy of PET, that should be 097, not 197.
I think mine will overtighten and jump the threads though, so it could just be a bit worn.

Oops! Sorry about my typo in the part number correction!
The last two digits, as you probably know, are the series number for replacement versions of the same part, so 01 gets replaced by 02, 03 and so on as the design gets tweaked. Or refined. Or improved. Or cheapened. Or ruined, etc. :-)

Thats so strange to hear. The problem I have with my cap, is that it tightens itself up to the point where i struggle to unscrew it. So I was cruising ebay, and came across this ... not sure if its a deal or not, but for 20 bucks, i feel like you can't loose

This is the common Porsche screw style oil filler cap. Oil filler caps sometimes get cracked, stripped or misplaced.
As copied from eBay listing. Maybe a lot of us have faulty caps and do not realise it? I know my engine is cold and so is the cap maybe if the engine is warm the cap gets harder to remove? I don't know as my car is winterised at the moment and do not plan to start it soon. But I might order a new cap will double check my part numbers when next at garage.
