I'll be there...don't be fooled into thinking that my (current) car's not a 964 though...many people comment on how much it looks like a GT3.

I was wondering what to do in between the RS day and the trip to Spa so this happily fills the spare weekend between.....count me in!

I hope so. I shall be giving it a thorough going over in a week or two, just to be sure. An onerous task, but one that I shoulder willingly, entirely for the good of others.

Hi there John, I think this thread now needs a bump to bring it back up the list a bit? It was in danger of disappearing!! How many cars will there be on this run? I think I counted up around 13 or 14. Might see you at the RS day at Oulton Park on friday if you are there. Brian.

Yes, thanks, Brian.
I will be doing a reccy this Saturday I hope, so I will post up some route details and so on after that.
Hoping to be at Oulton on Friday too.
...and no, I haven't bought her any. :-)

Okay, having done a bit of a reccy a day or two ago, here are the details.
Meet at Ruthin at the Esso garage on the very edge of the town (it is pretty much the last building) on the roundabout on the A525 to/from Denbigh at 11.00.
Head off at 11.30 onto the B5105 to Cerrigydrudion (that takes about 20mins). From there, turn right onto the B4501 past Llyn Brenig and straight on until the T-junction at the A543, where you turn left.
Stay on the A543 until the T-junction at the A5, where you turn right. After a couple of hundred yards, turn left over the bridge into the car park at Pentrefoelas. Toilet stop, and perhaps a quick coffee. It should be about 12.30 at this point.
Rejoin the A5 and turn left. After about a mile, turn left onto the B4407 and keep going until the T-junction with the B4391, where you turn left. At the T-junction with the A4212 turn left. Just after passing the White Water Sports Centre, turn left onto the B4501. At the T-junction with the A5 turn left, and then soon right onto the B5105 via Cerrigydrudion.
After a few miles, you will reach Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr and see the Crown Hotel (I think!) nestled into the hillside. Just before it, turn left, so that the stream is on your right. Stop at one of the picnic areas for lunch a little way down this road. ETA 1.30 to 2.00.

Some notes:
Just enjoy yourself. Drive fast, drive slowly... whatever you like.
If you like the former, be aware that some of these roads can very quickly trap the unwary with hidden bends, blind crests and so on - don't get carried away, or try to hang onto the tail of somebody faster. Equally, please don't hassle anyone you feel is holding you up. Just bide your time and pass when you can.
There may well be mobile speed cameras around. If in doubt, my advice is don't risk it, especially with so many cars in attendance.
Remember, especially the newbies, that this is a day for YOU to enjoy yourself and have fun with many really nice, friendly people. There is no pressure to conform or to perform. Relax, have fun, go home happy. :-)

John,
I hope to attend one of these days in the not too distant future, but mothers day and Spa the weekend after preclude it being this one
I would say though that your last post really sells the whole thing, nice drive, people and roads at whatever pace suits each individual
Have a great day whoever attends
Gary

I knew there was a reason I had a 'spare' weekend between events...and I was politely reminded why last night!
As Freedman says, have a great weekend...
