Default Short Shift Kit?

Hi all,

I need a new shifter. Any suggestions for a good quality short shift kit? Thanks in advance!

Check out FD Motorsports and their Golden Rod and short shift kit. There are several threads on this set up for both 964 and 993.

Have you guys seen this? Its considerably cheaper than others I've seen, but golden rule "you get what you pay for". Has anyone ever heard of these?

Looks like the factory short shift, as here

Or C4 version

The factory RS short shift kit is the way to go, I bought mine from Sunset Porsche for less than $100.00, no affiliation..........
Rothsport also sells a short shift kit that is highly rated, but a bit more money.

Hey Phil, do remember what additional parts you replaced "while you were in there"? Mine shifts fairly well right now but I'd like to get it like new. Thoughts?

If anyone has part numbers and solid sources I'd appreciate it.

Will the factory rs short shift kit require modifications to the tunnel area on a 91 C2?

My car is Dec. 14th 1990 which is a 1991 model, and I did have to modify the holes from round to oval. As far as I know MY 1992 and on, have the oval shift bushings installed already, so all you need to do is turn them around.
If you need to modify to oval holes HERE is a link to my DIY.

Currently only available for 996 + 997 but there might be a version for the 964 in late 2012!

APC shifter is fab....I bet it is very quick.....but @ 1300 €...
Love to see the 64 version...

Wonder if any one had the C4 from type 911, being lower at the bottom would worry me, could be chopped off going on a bump or curb (and live the car in gear....)
