no it shouldn't though though are you talking about the cat delete(premuffler) or the actual muffler ?

The actual muffler. Looking at the picture of your muffler next to the factory muffler it appears the in pipe on the left side of the muffler is directly where the muffler strap would be located.

Look at the witness marks on the OE muffler and make a comparison.

The design for the rear muffler coming inward towards the top was simply an adaption to our 1in1out for the 3.2 carreras as they are realitivly quiet we wanted to be on the same sound level. I am going to do one more prototype that has a different flow path and do back to back comparisons in spring.
Thanks, PM sent.

just to be clear the premuffler is 3" id up to the ball flare outlet which is 2.5 inch

As to clearing stock strap(muffler) the driver side will not but we would supply our own straps anyhow

Pre muffler ID 3inch = nice, restriction free up to 340 HP

Ball flare outlet 2.5inch = not so nice, restrictive over 255 HP (4% loss @ 300HP)

As tried to explain in my PM, the 964's power potential requires different exhaust design parameters than a 3.2 911.

The problem is the part of the parameters of the project was to use stock clamps etc so that people could purchase one part or the other but a motosports version is a possibility as well for the hard core guys.

What is the weight comparison between this muffler and the stock primary muffler?
This system has lots of potential....

Some additional feedback:

I measured my Cup Pipe today, it's 2.75" fitted with standard clamps, Cartronic do a 3" Cup pipe which also fits right with standard clamps (don't know whether simple 'porting of the gasket is necessary though).

A performance/motorsports version sounds great and should be easy enough to fit.

Best regards

the problem is the gasket and clamp the other issue is that you and I assume that people know how to deal with this the problem is after being in business for a long time Assuming is the worst possible thing we could do. just a small portion of the 964 owners and porsche owners in general are diy folks so to ask them to modify a gasket or to even provide one that is modified(not sure the market would bear the cost of making something like that) would work but all good ideas. again the 1st setup is targeted for guys/gals with stock 964s looking to lose weight on the back of the car and increase flow and probably add a chip with stock engines. The motorsports option is completly on the table and is no big deal as all the hard work is donw.
