For me when supply is so constrained, colour has to come second to condition, history and the price. I would have preferred silver, black, midnight or grey to red but I'm not that bothered, its the experience I'm into and I think they look good in most colours.
Good luck with the hunt.

A black car without clear coat is a recipe for bad paint, scratches, micro swirls, dull spots show up like you wouldn't believe ...I'm black non metallic and I'm having a respray with clear coat.
A lot of people don't buy black cars twice.
Another thing worth contemplating in applying a clear vinyl wrap over the paint... sure you can't polish it but it'll stay gorgeous!
Having said that the 1st thing above colour is the mechanicals, in an ideal world mine would have been Midnight Blue or Forest Green metallic. Actually black is soooooooooo beautiful!

I'm going to look at the RPM ones tomorrow so will report back. I'm not too fussed about the paintwork immediately as over the years I've budgeted for engine overhauls and an eventual complete respray.
I know wht you mean about restricted supply etc but the amazon green just doesnt do it for me. The search continues and am definitely looking forward to finding the right one

A very tidy C2 in Guards with engine rebuild - I saw this one in the metal recently, looked promising and a Baltic Blue with 28,000miles, one owner:

I'm sure you know this but black is not easy - sure they look stunning when fresh but maintaing black paint is a real nightmare, specifically because 964s that didn't take the metallic paint option didn't come with clear coat...
