Question

Hi fellas,

I will be at the hotel somewhat later as I cant get away from Chester until around 7pm, so should be in the bar for 9pm ish.

Wondering whether to put the Cup wheels on (new PS3s) or stick with the Speedlines (888s)????

Cheers,
Kev
PS Its absolutely hammering it down!

I've plumped for 888s. Forecast is for rain showers throughout the day.....and I just hope the few and far between!

In my experience 888s are just as good, if not better, than road tyres on track. Just take it easy on the way over in case of standing water.

It'll be much drier tomorrow.

I am taking Frank and have got brake lights this year! So excited, plenty of sideways action!

Had a great time.

Apologies to anybody I held up . Only had one dodgy moment (that I noticed)when a 968 spun in front of me which is nice.

When is the next one, oh and I need better brakes.

Nice pics.

I chickened out when it started to rain in the afternoon. I was knackered by then anyway
Not used to concentrating so hard.

Craner curves were a bit off putting at first but got used to them. Don't think I got Mcleans or redgate right all day.

Nice pics there Gary, especially No 17!!!!! Some evidence that I had at least 1 run before the noise police stopped play (boo Derby Council!)

Another great day organised by Boxsey, he almost got the weather absolutely spot on too!

Terrific to catch up with everyone, roll on Spa 2013!

Second that, thanks boxsey for organising a great day. It was so quiet, i had more time on a clear track than on any other day I've been on.

On the downside, looks like I've destroyed the rubber donut clutch centre on my car, made it home fine but its clunky as hell. I've been looking for an excuse to drop the engine. . .

Lol naturally! On both counts!

Luckily the engine is still golden, so no rebuild needed, touch wood. But I may look at a valve adjust and a couple of oil leaks WIIT.

Clutch parts are a bit of a riddle on the k series 89 C4, classic porsche single year randomness. And therefore tripple the price ~600 for a std friction disc ~1000 for a full kit. Although it looks like you can drop the rubber centre clutch and go with a 75-77 930 part the cheapest source of which looks like vertexauto stateside @$198 so there's hope yet. Thread on its way i think. . .
