Default engine tin supplier

can someone point me in the right direction as to where I can find a replacement engine tin set, I am looking for either fiberglass or carbon fiber.
I know the delaer has them but at a very high cost.
If you know of someone with a spare set in good condition, that would also work for me.

thanks

i bought individual pieces on ebay and had them powder coated - total cost for a new set for sub 300 dollars all in...

would be nice to have a good set in carbon though - zero rust issues...although I imagine the powder coat should do well for a few years...

I'm pulling mine soon and plan to do the powdercoating route. I'll probably coat them silver instead of black to lighten up things a bit. I hope mine aren't corroded beyond repair.

Q: Why aren't those made of aluminum?
A: Long term greed.

Porsche obviously knows on which side the bread is buttered...

Vandit - if your powder coater can get things smooth with zero orange peal - i just did chrome powder on my retrun tubes and fan housing and was pretty impressed with how they came out - speaking of lightening things up...but mine are very slightly orange peal, which I was unhappy about - however, if smooth - it's very bright and should look good for the tins...

+1 on the aluminum - i am suprised there arent better aftermarket tins for all 911's - seems there is not one owner that doesnt eventually complain about the tin quality, replacement cost, etc...if someone made alluminum tins, they would sell one set per 911 on the road....(air cooled)

Isn't the tinware an essential part of the cooling process for an aircooled engine - I know it is for my VW engines.

So is there an affect on installing tinware made from different metal or other? i.e. does the metal composition play an important part in absorbing heat, or is it just there to deflect heat?

You know Porsche could have made them corrosion-resistant if they chose to...
