Default Bg 75-90w gear oil for tranny and diff fluid change?

ok so i am getting geared up to do tranny oil change as well as the diffs and cannot get the mobil 1 delvac that others have posted on here.So at work after a little searching i can get the BG line of oil products primarily BG 75-90W full synthetic oil which is api gl5 not cheap also! but has anyone had bad experience with this line of product?
Also what happens if i just use sae 75-90w gear oil? the car is 100% street car with some spirited driving? i ask cause i have read some posts of guys who complain of notchy shifting or grinding after changing their fluid out and wonder if i should just stick to regular gear oil that the manual states sae 75-90w api gl5?

Steve W. recommends Mobil Devlac or Redline so that is what I went with.

"The G50-series trannys, on the other hand, really work well with a full-synthetic gearlube like Mobil 1 Delvac or Redline."

I run Delvac, and the first couple of shifts on a cold engine are notchy, but that clears quickly.

Redline here; the gear oil plus some shockproof light I had left over from the front.

Or the premium defence/military oil ....

Lubrication Engineers 75W-90 - 9919

I live in the wrong country and this stuff was about US$150 per litre!

Lubrication Engineers gear lube is good stuff but they don't sell it in quart containers. Five gallons minimum unfortunately.

I'm located in edmonton ,alberta, canada. So my car has the g64 tranny in it as it is a 1989 c4. which leads me to the next question will it suffer any ill effect if i run full synthetic gear oil in it or should i stick to the basic sae 75-90w oil? I wouldn't mind shipping the mobil delvac in but i'm tired of fedex and ups screwing me with their brokerage fees.It makes no sense how they come to their amounts eg. I shipped in my brake ducts worth $100 from source in US and got a bill for $60 for brokerage fees when delivered. Fella at work that works beside me orders in $850 worth of suspension parts for his camaro and gets a $40 brokerage fee what gives?

Yup - UPS are criminal with their brokerage fees.

Watch out as they will try to bill you twice too. I have to pay by cc at the door or the driver don't give me the stuff but then they also mail a bill and, if you accidentally pay twice, they won't tell you or refund the extra. Bastards. I try to get stuff shipped to the far north by FedEx, Purolator, or USPS and. for big stuff, I set up an account with Cole, an independent brokerage company.

There is an AmsOil outlet in Edmonton - you could always look at their stuff.

For my differential oil thread, but this doesn't solve your brokerage issue

4)You can do the rennlist searches yourself, but I settled on using Mobil Delvac 75W90 synthetic gear oil.
I got it here with free shipping (continental USA): Drillspot.com
I ended up buying 2, 1 gallon containers, one for the rear, and one for the front.

Just one point of clarification. Delvac is a Mobil, not a Mobil 1 product. I've had customers go buy Mobil1 gear lube thinking it was Delvac. The primary difference is the Mobil1 has LSD friction modifiers in it and Delvac does not.

GT Gears, thanks the for the clarifications, I will edit my post to drop the "Mobil 1" in front of Delvac and just keep it Mobil.

Try Nortrux (Mack Truck Dealer--Edmonton) 780.452.6225. The Mobil Delvac Synthetic 75W 90 is the standard gear oil in Mack rear ends. You can also try the local Freightliner, Kenworth, Volvo, & International dealers.

If they only have 55 gallon drums for shop use, ask if they will fill a empty container and charge you per quart.
