Default 964 Re-paint Options

I've been posting about options for my 964 (996TT, 997?). One option is to spend some money on my slate gray metallic C2 coupe. The paint is what I would call a 3 foot. Over all it is still quite nice, but very close inspection reveals some swirls, scratches, rock chips, small dings, etc. There is also a small crack on the wing and rear bumper cover. Any suggestions on options up to and including a full re-paint? Is it possible to touch up these individual flaws? Any recommendations of where I could take it in the DFW area?

Thanks,

J. Tucker

We're in the same boat and in the same metroplex, ha. I have a bit of a bump on the rear bumper, rust at the base of the windshield, and a couple of other things I want to address. I'll probably address the rust and bumper in early 2012 and eventually respray the whole car.

Are you in the Carrollton area? I chatted up a gray C2 owner in a Kroger parking lot a couple of months ago.

Check out this thread, quite a bit of discussion about DFW paint & body options.

Pretty good local DFW forum too, if you want to join it.

Before you go for a full paint you might try these guys for a Detail and Paint Correction. They have done good work for quite a few folks on the dfwautoclub. Once you see how it looks you can move on the the other issues.

Vandit,
Yes that was me I'm sure. As you may have noticed my paint is still pretty decent condition, but I think I want to take it up to the next level, or move on to something newer (but most likely I will be keeping the C2). I'll check out some of the otions posted.

thanks,

J,

Did you get the car redone after all? I spotted you again today (same location, lol) and noticed you changed the wheels and that your lower body panels were entirely body color, instead of black on the lower edge.
