My car is pretty bad on uneven roads.

How do I know if this is down to worn engine mounts or rear shocks?

What is it like when your engine mounts are worn?

Try shifting from 2nd to 3rd in a tight bend a few times. When my engine mounts went, 3rd gear was somewhat challenging to find in anything but straight line driving. Otherwise, inspect them with a mirror, it will be obvious if they are gone. Also check your shocks for the obvious, like leaking fluid.
