I adjusted my valves over a year ago, and it will soon be time to do it again. I had a few noisy valves with wide tolerances; and the engine definitely quieted down. But, I also found three valves that were very tight with no tolerance (and thus made no noise) and those would have resulted in burned valves if I had not performed the adjustment. So, a little valve noise is not necessarily bad. And no valve noise is not necessarily good.
Plus, a valve adjustment is just a deep, soothing, heavenly experience. I can't wait for the next one.
