My way of thinking as well... don't agree with the it's just a car :P

Had a garage queen and regret not driving her more. What I got now is even more exclusive, but I don't have a garage anymore and drive her as much as I can. I'm happier this way.

I was use my C2 for daily driver. It was great pleasure for a winter time and I really enjoy to drive it but my current C4 will be a garage queen.

I use my '90 C4 2 to 3 times a week to/from work. I find it very reliable (knock on wood). I avoid salted roads and very bad weather.

My C2 is used mainly on weekends and also 5-6 track meetings a year it is not very reliable so maybe next year I will buy a Cayman for track duties

Every day, year round in NY. Rain, snow, sunshine, and, yes, even on salt.

60k miles worth.

The salt takes it's toll, but I enjoy driving it.

Life is short.

Just curious, what have you noted? I've never driven my C2 on salted roads, however, I want to pick up a C4 for year round driving, and the authorities here in western Pennsylvania certainly lay down their fair share of salt...

Hopefully soon I will move back down to VA, where you need not worry quite as much about this sort of thing, and the 964 driving season is a good 10 mos. out of the year.

Mine is a daily driver...........although my commute is only 10km each way........i arrive at work with a smile!
The wife switches between the 964 Targa and the Cayenne for her daily driver.

These cars definately prefer to be driven. Part of the enjoyment is owning a 964 and the other part is driving it........don't miss out on half the fun!

Buying a Cayman will not make the 964 more reliable... just drive it more you'd be surprised how relaible they become.

Mostly every day. Sometimes I drive the CR-V if I need to haul something/someones.

>6k miles since late June, and it was down for 3 weeks when I was working on it.

i drive my C2 cab about 4 days a week....not quite a daily driver, but we are fortunate enough to have good weather most of the time for top down driving.

I drive it 3-4 days a week here in Texas, never in the rain, and it definitely will be staying home when it gets snowy/icy for those 2wks max that Texas gets real "winter" weather. I've had the car for 8 months and have put about 3k miles on it so far.

I drive my C4 year-round, including snow and salt, and am not seeing too many problems. I clean out the underside a few times through the winter with a hose and/or a pressure washer. I end the summer season with a full clean up - remove all wheels, up on jack stands in the driveway, and go at it with the detergent and pressure washer. Amazing how much crap and brake dust from track days ends up on the driveway. Once it dries, I spray everything underneath with a coating of TC-11 and I really think it helps.
Drive it. Don't look in the rear view mirror.
Be Safe.

Don't use mine as a DD but when it's been called in to service while the normal car is being fixed, it copes brilliantly and I get the strangest feeling that it really likes it!
