You're right: Porsche didn't supply two fittings in these kits and we always used a pair of the kits on each car to do this properly. I found that to be a mistake in their engineering.
so if the 'exhaust' from the distributor should be the input for the tail light, then there really is no need for the second hole in the blower tube and the TSB is correct only in the problem statement.
blower tube's existing hole ---> rubber Tubing ---> Distributor A / Distributor B ----> rubber tubing ----> Taillight

Hmm...a new vent kit isn't expensive. I might go order a second kit to get that second bung, and try Steve W's idea, and at the same time, renew the yellowy vent tube in my car with a nice new one.
