PDAS green light mod (when adding bulb is not enough)
#32
I have a UK registered 1992 (M chassis 1991)
It has the green light next to the 4WD check light and the 959 height adjustable suspension light. I fitted a bulb from one of the others into the green bulb holder and it lights up straight away when the ignition is on, just need to find some wet grass to give it a go. If nothing else it will help me to understand when it cuts in and how it translate to feel on track. (in theory)

Our roads are covered in ice so no need to go chew up someones lawn, unless you don't like them.
It does disable PDAS, or at least the green light.
Pulling away from a stop sign seems about the same. I honestly couldn't tell any difference with it off or on other than the green light function. Hmm. Maybe it just leaves the AWD in a locked mode? Wouldn't be good for dry pavement then (no worries round here about that until April...).

Interesting thread. After reading it I took my gauge out and put a bulb in the described spot (there was a plug in it). After that turning on the ignition showed the below:
The green light came on without having to move wires (I have a '90 C4, first delivery Germany).
The light flashes in the same intermittent pattern as the amber light on the console after turning the PDAS switch to the right. I also put a bulb in the spot at the lower left which results in "Check Engine" coming on. But as it stays on after starting the engine this does not seem to represent the correct status. So I took that one out again.

I just put a bulb in my green light slot.
On wet roundabouts with power on= understeer=> green light turns on, but it doesnt blink, it stays on until i have traction again.
Does it have different features depening on which diff locks? I tried straith forward on the wet in 1gear but not enough power to make the wheels spin
I also noticed going over some hard speed bumps and if there is a uneven overlap in the road where you get a hard bump (lowered and bilstein pss10) the green light will turn on.

I experience the same, green light goes on when I hit a bump in the road. Loose contact somewhere? (already filled the reservoir to above max level, that could not be the cause).
