Well Seems
That since selling my 964 and looking for a 996tt with no luck I might get out of pcars for now. Just can't find a nice example. Did a few PPIs and issue after issue. UGH so thinking a nice compromise is to get rid of my daily driver that is horrible in the snow etc and buy a AUdi S4.
anyone own one or have any info I should be aware of?
Thank you

The Typ C3 where particularly horrible.
The Typ B5 was even worse.
In fact any of the Bi-Turbo 2.7 are almost guarenteed to have major and expensive problems, and if it is an automatic it will need a transmission.
Warranty companies wont even cover 2.7 Bi-turbos.
The NA V8 cars are not too bad, but it is still an Audi, and they are still expensive to fix. If you get one I would get a V8 manual if you can find one.

Many of the S4 B5's bugs were worked out by the final year, 2002.
I had no issues, zero. Had it chipped and putting out 307hp on 93 octane.
It is an awesome car. AWD is priceless in the slop. 2002 is the rarest year unfortunately...
Don't try this at home.

I have owned both a B5 S4 and a B5 RS4 and both were great cars. I put about 70k miles on the S4 with very few problems Just sold it last year for $10k. I sold my RS4 with about 50k miles and had very few problems with it. It was probably the best car I have ever owned. Too bad they never made it for the US. I guess as these cars age, maintenance cost go up so you will probably want to look for something newer with warranty.

I had owned a 2002 s4 and was a lot of fun. no issues, but I only had it for two years or so.
I am looking at a brand new one 2012 S4 manual. haven't seen any issues but waterpump which seems to be replaced in 2010 with a new design.
the rs4 was an animal from what I have heard, but the new S4 is supposedly pretty comparable to the 2007 rs4 in performance.

Love Audi... but love the 964 more AND the C4 is very capable in the snow and has great heating.
Things you should be aware of - yes: "You could end up missing the 964"

I agree navaros and i had a c4, but felt bad if I drove it in bad weather etc. The car was mint with low miles and didn't want to take out in snow and grime... couldn't do it to the car
