Default odometer stoped working

So the odometer and trip odometer have stopped working. I heard somewhere that it could be a broken gear and that there is repair for it. where can I get this repair part? the car is a '93 c2

My car suffered from the same problem. I contemplated doing a DIY repair, but then considered the cost of replacing the unit if I goofed the repair.

I ended up sending it in to North Hollywood Speedometer instead.

I repaired mine. Its very doable if you are brave. I was very nervous about damaging the mechanism but in the end the repair went very well. Cost of the replacement gear was only $25. I used the instructions listed above.

I replaced both gears out of an abundance of caution...and yes you can run the car without the speedometer while you wait for the gear to arrive, you have to open the speedo to confirm the number of teeth on the gear

Probably the gear... like everybody else suspects.

The first speedo in my car ran 85k km before failure. The whole unit was then replaced and the second one only lasted 25k km. The heat here melts the gear. So a replacement gear went in i.o. replacing the unit. That was 5k km ago, so I can't say much besides that the odo rotates again.

Since you are in FL heat will have an adverse effect on the gear.

Did it my self with trembling knees, But it was straight forward and costed only 20usd
Tip: do not push the reset button when the car moves !

yep, did It myself last year, follow the guide p-car guide and you should be right.
