Default Heating problem: left cold, right warm...

Dear all,

I've got a heating problem with the following specs:

When I turn the heater on, the centre blower, the right blower and the right hand site of the window blower give warm air. The left blower and the left hand site of the window blower stay cold.

Should you have any suggestions to solve my problem, please post them!

Regards,

Bas

I think your left mixing servo has passed away... do a search and you'll find tons of stuff

I suspect one of your servos may be stuck. This article can help isolate the problem.

I have exactly the same issue with my car. I found the above link last Spring. I'm going to try and fix my servo this weekend.

Well I just followed the instructions in the link above and I think I need to buy a new servo unless there is a way to buy a new circuit board. The circular trace that the metal brushes follow is badly ridged and one side is very brown looking, as if something shorted.

I sprayed the heck out of the whole circuit board assembly with electrical contact cleaner and I tested the motor with a 9V battery (good).

I doubt anyone sells the innards of this servo so I guess I have to buy a new one... please let me know where a good one can be had for a reasonable price.

thanks

used are VERY expensive. I got 2 used ones from Oklahoma foreign last year for a fairly reasonable price.

I just located and purchased a replacement servo on Long Island (where I am) for a very fair price. Talk about luck!

I installed it 5 minutes ago and now I have heat and cooling! This is wonderful.

If your car is left hand drive-
and you always have warm air on the passenger side-
and the paper ducts aren't torn-
then Servo #2 is most likely the culprit.

I took mine apart, used fine emery cloth on the spider contacts, and electronics cleaner on the board, and wiped off a lot of build-up. It has worked fine ever since.

TOO much, I agree. The next time I'll spend some time on the web. I had "fixed" it a couple of times but this year I just got frustrated with it and ordered a new one. I thought it was working fine until I had it tested with a Hammer and that showed it just wasn't responding properly.
