I need to get new ones for me as well since I installed a RSA wing and decklid on my car....

I guess that I need to get turbo hood shocks....Is this true.....??? What would be the best for me to get?

When I pull the handle it just unlocks the hood and it does not stay up after opening.

If you have two , take one off and see if it works for you .

I thought about that. After I replaced one strut the trunk popped open more slowly than now, but I was afraid the upwards/downward force on just one side would warp the lid, mess up the gaps or worse.

Thanks.

Noticed this last night when I was messing around in the engine bay. It looks like there are 2 possible holes for the struts to bolt to. My guess is, if you bolt the struts in the lower hole, the lid will pop open with more force...might be worth checking which hole yours are attached to.

Default Struts

I have the same setup as you are showing in your photo. I went to the shop where they put these heavyduty strusts and asked them to replace with regular ones, but they weren't willing to.

i believe there are two versions of the shocks. When i had my original deck lid, it swung open automatically (when released), but after changing to the new heavier wing, I have to lift it up. Was told by my body shop that I need to get the shocks with higher tension in order to make it pop open like it used to.

If it really bothers you that much, I'll trade you. I wouldn't mind it popping open upon release, but neither does it bother me that it doesn't. Just let me know.

I think the more recent gas shocks have too much pressure in them. I'm launching watermelons off my rear hatch.
