Question regarding side mirror shape
Why is that some 964's have round edged mirrors, while others are more rectangular?
Is it depending on model year or version (C2/C4) or is it aftermarket?

Yes, search here for "flag" mirrors... they were rectangular, then they weren't.
Lots of guys have upgraded to the newer style as a retro-fit. It's a matter of personal taste.

Flags, refer to the early square mirrors
Cups are referred to as that in general or aero in some quarters, but most definitely not cup flags
